Gauss Translations –
In Business for 30 Years

In February 2021, Gauss Translations celebrated their 30th anniversary. The translation service was established in January 1992 by Dr. Jürgen Gauss after completing his Ph.D. in American Studies at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio.

How it all began

I have studied German and American literature at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. After receiving a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship, I spend one and a half years at the The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, until I completed my Master of Arts in English.

Doctor of Philosophy from The Ohio State University

I continued my studies of American literature for four more years at the OSU English Department and received my Ph.D. in English in 1991. During that time I worked as a teaching assistant at the English Department of Ohio State University. I completed my studies with the academic degree Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).
