We are DIN EN ISO 17100 certified

We provide translation services in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17100. This is what our registration with DIN CERTCO (Reg. No. 7U556) stands for. This certification guarantees that translations are carried out according to the native speaker principle by a team of two professional translators, one responsible for the translation and the second for the proofreading.
This enables us to meet the high-quality demands of our customers.


Anniversary year 2015

Gauss Translations – In Business for 30 Years

In February 2015, Gauss Translations celebrated their 30th anniversary. The translation service was founded in February 1985 – then under the name Buckeye Translations – by Dr. Jürgen Gauss after completing his American Studies at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio.


The Ohio State University

Graduated as Doctor of Philosophy

He financed the doctoral program through his work as a teaching assistant at the English Department of Ohio State University. He completed his studies in the USA with the academic degree Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). This degree was officially recognized in Germany.


Studies of German and American literature

How it all began

Jürgen Gauss studied German and American literature at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. He then continued his studies of American literature for five years at the English Department of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He completed his first academic year in the USA, which was sponsored by a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service, with a Master of Arts degree in English.
